Botanical garden iguana

Iguanas (Iguana iguana) are reptiles of arboreal habits that can be commonly seen on the ground basking in the sun. Unfortunately, in Colombia they are highly trafficked for their meat and eggs. This specimen has learned to coexist with people in the botanical garden of Medellin, there, iguanas are almost treated as pets, people offer them fruit and try to take pictures with them; which is also a problem for them, because they give the false impression that they can be kept as pets and this proximity can also mean a potential public health problem.
